Lack of understanding can be evident in many ways such as: 1) the inability to comprehend subject matter, as a result of being genuinely unable to grasp what is being conveyed, 2) that which results when deception is being employed as in the case of a child that spent two (2) years deceiving family members that a hearing problem was the reason for not comprehending instructions and 3) the Bible in Isaiah 6:5-9 describes the type of individuals who even though they hear what is being said do not understand what is really being said; meaning that the type of individual who listens but does not hear a word that has been said is being described, as such types are have very little respect for the interests of anyone apart from themselves and this results in their inability to "act and/or focus on” what is being said because they have an answer for everything even before it’s being spoken regardless of what the subject matter is. This is a description about understanding, please follow.

Being unable to comprehend various details is often attributed to those who have not been thought how to grasp certain subject matter because of not having been trained formally in such skills. In these days of “shadowy free loader” types assuming much while contributing very little in return, and then resorting to victimizing others for the skills in, which they lack, really don/t understand the far reaching implications of, for example, signing off in another’s name, whose identity, history, qualifications and accomplishments are being mimicked for the cause of padding that what’s lacking in those skill less and useless types in order to give the appearance of possessing skills they do not have, in a nuclear plant where the health and safety of the public is concerned (as documented in the posts HOW YOUNG IS TOO YOUNG (EDITED)? as well as WHO REALLY WAS GRANTED THE FREEDOM TO SPEAK?, in addition to NO INDIVIDUAL KNOWS THE FUTURE!.
In the case of the those who spend their lives deceiving others into believing they have genuine needs when no such needs exists as the child in the above example cleverly did for quite sometime because the art of using the attention displayed by all had to be masterfully adopted for the cause of self preservation and avoiding responsibility, while tricking others into the thinking that a problem existed when no such situation was the case and by this rouse, difficult choices could be put off (or kicked down the road) as in the case of dictatorships that follow this principle [see the post THE FATE FOR THE METHODS OF DICTATORS WHO HOLD ON TOO LONG (EDITED 3/14/2013)]. Sadly, this behavior model doesn’t extend only to childish manipulations but also to those adults who employ childhood tactics to avoid making tough decision such as (for example a state that allows its processes to be disrespected repeatedly until it’s been reduced to being categorized with those of low standards and lacking in transparent activities (see the post EXAMPLES OF COURAGE - AMENDED).
This third example from the Biblical book of Isaiah 6:5-9, describes the vision of this prophet in his description of the remnant of Israel who would be saved, not typically found where one would expect to find them to be, hence the inference to those who hear but not understand. The implications is of individuals who are very familiar with what is typically expected of the chosen but not really understanding what is being expected of them, because of their tendency to rely on formal trappings while paying little regard for those intrinsic qualities of importance such as kindness, fairness, thoughtfulness and hopefulness etc., (or things of the heart). Such types are neither lacking in knowledge nor are they resorting to deception because they can hear and fully grasp what is being spoken without fully understanding the application of its implications.
The outcome and Overall Results:
While lack of understanding has been the focus of this post, understanding has been purposely neglected. Webster defines understanding as the power of comprehension (or the grasping the meaning of) and correspondingly in the Bible in Proverbs 3:13 understanding is described in the following manner “happy is the man who “findeth” wisdom and man that “geteth” understanding. These descriptions both imply that understanding is a state of mind as depicted by one who possesses the “power” to grasp meaning and in the case of scripture understanding is being equated with happiness in a "two-step" process, that involves not only searching for but also the acquisition of what was being sought. This quite eloquently explains why there is so much unhappiness in our society in these days, namely due to lack of understanding those things of importance for, which there is a continual search but no one really finding the important values to us as individuals (that can’t be purchased) and then just as important taking action to acquire them. Therefore, whether it’s due to being untrained, resorting to deception or being unteachable, the three forms of lacking understanding considered ultimately these types are all hampered by the fact that they have not sought and taken possession of the state of mind that would enable comprehending to take place unimpeded and from that condition, happiness is a byproduct or as those intrinsic qualities often overlooked by those who consider themselves to be self-sufficient and not in need of anything such as showing kindness, fairness, thoughtfulness, hopefulness when the conditions are right and finally happiness because of the knowledge they possess and such knowledge could only have come from acquiring (after finding it but this also excludes purchasing) the state of mind that enables us to know what's important, which few ever find and acquire (that does not involve attempting to take credit for the ideas of others by stealth and in reality not doing anything of significance). .
The individual who understands what’s important would not have to rely on stealing the ideals of others, using them to generate cost savings and then attempting to cover-up the fact that ideas have been used improperly by manipulating newspaper articles of subject matter and purposely overlooking bona fide subject matter when considering issues related to the information used improperly and published blatantly as if the right to do so was already possessed, when such was not the case. as documented in the post "THE ONE THAT WAS OVERLOOKED, OR WAS IT (EDITED AND UPDATED)?". Furthermore, to add insult to injury, the ownership rights to these ideas are blatantly attempted to be attributed to “free loader” types with no ability to generate anything “lawfully” concrete that has not been borrowed from others. Understanding what’s important by an individual is an indication that such a person has achieved a great deal because the knowledge of such comes as a direct result of having comprehended and sought to increase it as pointed out in Proverbs 15:14, which states that "the heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouths of fools feedeth on foolishness". Therefore without possessing the state of mind that results in happiness, the acquisition of real understanding will be lacking and actions such as stealing from others will be resorted to as well as atrocities will be permitted, disrespecting of processes and individuals (even those too young to fully realize the implications of their actions), will be allowed and/or take place in the cause of man’s oldest profession, which has paralyzed most of the entities that drive commerce as previously described on the pages of this Blog in posts such as ONE CASUALTY OF THE RECENT FINANCIAL CRISIS - TOO BIG TO CHANGE (EDITED)! as well as THE STRANGE DEATH OF AN ICON (EDITED)!.
Conclusion:
It is no wonder then that lack of understanding exists, which results from the fact that the knowledge (for example) that my achievements have been undertaken by me and not obtained by quid pro quo purchases and/or contributions of any type is sadly lacking. These individuals who are unable to possess this state of mind for the above cause belong to the "easily obtained club" whose members do everything to "hide" behind the accomplishments of others and their inability to develop that state that results in happiness takes place because missing are those intrinsic qualities that exists due to having achieved accomplishments themselves since such types are constantly trying to attain their "borrowed" identities via unethical practices, therein lies their dilemma, for how can there be a sense of achievement when having to resort to illegal activities to keep propping up the "stolen vestiges" they are desperately attempting to maintain by the "whatever works" mantle (as discussed in greater detail on the Descriptive Terms Page). Therefore, they are incapable of finding wisdom themselves and in turn attempt to steal it from others who possess it. In the end, they are incapable of understanding what’s important, fair, honorable and wholesome as well as being unable to exercise any real feelings for anyone or anything because such qualities can't be purchased at any price (either in their "real" identities from, which they are running or their borrowed "cloaks" that don't fit, due to the constant patching needed), even with their phony financial accounts they are attempting to adorn themselves in, without success, can't help towards this end; and as a result, the state of mind that enables happiness, will constantly elude them, since they have not acquired it because frankly "IT IS NOT LIKE DIAMONDS IN THE SKY" as a line from one modern day song, implies, because possessions (even those most highly valued and/or desirable), don't and never will produce the state of mind that results in happiness, because after having acquired such, acknowledging WHO is responsible for all things, even possessions isn't undertaken simply because of the methods used in their acquisition doesn't permit this second part of this requirement to be completed and this in turn defines the core problem faced by most in search of resources by the "whatever works" path; it just doesn't produce the state of mind that results in happiness!
IT MUST BE NOTED THAT WHILE THE SUBJECT OF UNDERSTANDING IS INDICATED AS INVOLVING TWO STEPS, FOR A MORE CAREFUL IN-DEPTH EXAMINATION OF WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THIS SUBJECT OVERALL, THE FOLLOW-UP POST WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE - INSTRUMENTS FOR LIFE SHOULD BE STUDIED.
