Every Site on the Internet has a unique location established by the Site Providers, with complex equipment that includes servers (or host computers) that assign these sites specific locations and the central location for determining this information is called; whois.com, where every site on the Internet and its domain details are published. or some variation will be depicted, which will be the server address for the Site. the address depicted is that for the original Site. There are some “shadowy” types and their supporters in search of identities, histories, qualifications and accomplishments who believe that frequenting old accounts (see the post FREQUENTING PAST ACCOUNTS AS A MARK OF LEGITIMACY - UPDATED) in combination to the establishing of fictitious financial accounts in the names of others will bring the instant “credibility” such types and their supporters seek, but this is just another “angle” to delay the inevitable. Even though the server information for this Blog is available it is not depicted because it is not a top-level site (as previously indicated).
The Conservery.com domain was established on 10/25/2001 and has never changed hands and below is a depiction of the original Site. The original site domain was originally purchased as part of a bundle of services, which included its own complications (to be discussed here). Since the original Web Site package obtained was of the type that required site files to be created with nothing yet completed and since Site files had already been completed, the need for their (website package as provided) was unnecessary. Finally after much discussion and recognizing that what had been ordered was more than required, and what was needed ONLY was hosting services, then Concentric Network Corporation was contacted to provide hosting services to fill this need. Once an account was established and the previously prepared files uploaded, and server details carried out everything had been completed to launch the initial Conservery Site, and this was done on 10/25/2001. A chronological look at selected photos is included below as supporting documentation and the final end product.
This is a classic case of the fact that things never go according to plan, especially since there was no script and trial and error was the name of the game. This is a summary of what was received as initially Verisign indicated the Domain could not be obtained separately for the website package. The above reference showing the Domain name "buried" in the website package is what was obtained rather than "ordered"..

However, all three involved with the Proprietorship at the time (of which two are shown above, in addition to the Office Advisor, my now ex spouse), played some minor (discussing/conveying what was needed to Representatives over the phone) in the effort to get the Site up and running. |
The Outcome/Developments:
Note: that initially,
Verisign charged for a complete package and it appeared at least at the outset
that the domain registration was being billed for monthly, however, after many communication
sessions back and forth, Verisign finally realized that we only were receiving
domain service from them, because, we were charged for a website package and a
website was up and running, so to those who were unfamiliar with the initial
details and without a thorough review of the facts it could appear that the charges were valid.
It took months of wrangling sessions to straighten out the complication and
some time after for all parts of the organization to realize that we were only receiving
domain registration service from them, because the following year, a request for renewal of
this service was received and was about to be paid before realizing
that this was a matter that had been “fought” over in the past and had to be
canceled before putting it to rest finally. What was then accomplished by
Conservery, was unique as pointed out by the Verisign, representatives at the
time, in that no individual had ever come 9up to that time) requesting the domain registration service who
didn’t also need the accompanying web site package, but Conservery did not and
that set the Proprietorship apart and still does in many ways, and for this proactiveness, due credit goes to my son Dejon, who then a "fresh" out of High School graduate, with my assistance found out what was needed and made sure we had the appropriate files to support the desired objective. That is why his name did appear (as shown below on the composite Site) as the initial designer, because he did (and no one can take that away from him). After additional months Verisign finally refunded
the excess charges. (It must be noted here that Verisign eventually separated the domain registration and website services division from the remainder of its products offered and sold it to the entity known as the Network Solutions, which still owns. Later, hosting services were obtained from a different entity but the registration remained with Network Solutions, this is the unique facet here, as any entity selected can provide hosting service for the top level site when appropriate.
